6 Especially in the last quarter of the century we are in, there are many social, political, economic and technologic developments and changes either in world or in our country and they were sensed by the “artists” who are the sensitive individuals emerging from the society and again all these changes were expressed by them in a unique way. Therefore, this process of change and transformation bring new searches and expectations together in the fields of society, culture and art. Along with this direction, the “Contemporary Art Project Contest for Youth” is achieved by our General Directorate upon the instruction of our Minister Ömer Çelik. The exhibition that includes young artists from different universities together, is important in terms of its mode, type and material diversity in addition to collect the works of young artists in different disciplines side by side that also complies either with the conceptual framework of the exhibition as “Culture of Cohabitation” or indication of the contemporary art with recent developments as result of the eclectic structure of the exhibition. The “Contemporary Art Project Contest for Youth” that is arranged by our General Directorate with an open call to the universities, firstly aims to be sustainable. Our project that we aim it to be institutional and international, intends to meet the works of innovative artists with the art professionals and art lov- ers by enabling the support for their productions.
