3üncü Güncel Sanat Proje Yarışması Kataloğu 2017

11 While the support transferred to plastic arts are usually given only in conventional areas and in the modernist “branches of art”, creating a supportive environment for young artists who produce with the new paradigm has inevitably appeared as an effort to create a new space. A brand new competition that has emerged from this need is an event of the Ministry in its newest form; “Young Art: Current Art Project Competition”. The situation that I have enjoyed and observed in the process of the “Current Art Project Competition”, which has been held for the third time since its emergence until now, should be regarded as an extremely valuable step in order to overcome the shortcomings of official institutions regarding the issue. Providing support for young people, who carry out production through this competition and produce with the new art paradigm, fulfills the mission of transferring a significant support by ending the shortage of official institutions in this field. The increasing number of participants every year and the rising acceleration in the quality of works gives us a message in terms of how proper this project is and how valuable it is to achieve institutionalization. Considering that this diversity in artistic practices is not a periodic trend and that it will continue gradually; it is obvious that the continuity of the project, its institutionalization and the increasing continuance of these supports are required. I hope every goal we imagine for this project is the common hope for everyone who thinks, writes and draws in the current field of art. I would like to express my gratitude to all persons, institutions and organizations that have made efforts for the implementation and continuous success of the project.
