Opening the doors slightly opens new horizons from mood to mood, favour, beauty, aesthetics. By giving opportunities to time, place, future and artistic production of youth, it opens the doors slightly in a manner. 343 artists with their works took part in the “4th Contemporary Art Project Competition” with the theme of “Opening the Doors Slightly” organized with the aim of supporting the art works and free imaginativeness and giving them visibility in the contemporary art area and as a result of the evaluation made by the Selective Board, the Works of 29 artists were considered worthy to be exhibited, 10 works for “honorable mention” award and 10 works for “award”. I would like to extend my thanks to our young artists participated in the “4th Contemporary Art Project Competition” which we performed with these feelings and a new excitement, with their works created with labour and self-sacrifice, whose works were deemed worthy to be awarded, to members of the “Selective Board” who enrich the value of these Works with their knowledge and experience, to the staff of the General Directorate who contributed in all stages from the beginning of the competition and to the preparation of the exhibition and catalogue Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Salim TOKAÇ General Director Önsöz / Foreword “Art competitions are considered as important platforms for the emergence of young talents for the art world, for the production and the exhibition of the new works. Art competitions organized both by state and private institutions and increasing with each passing day is realized as an important representation area for artists, academicians and art audiences, especially for young artist candidates. Art competitions provide an opportunity for the art students ‘to be able to express themselves, to be famous in the field, to have contact with people from different art disciplines and to exhibit their works. In this context, “Contemporary Art Project Competition” organized within the scope of “Young Art” by our Ministry and continues non-stop from 2015 on, looks at the art through a framework of interdisciplinary and has an important encouragement area for the young artists who benefit from many sources. “The interested audiences of the contemporary art increase rapidly in Turkey as well as all over the world. We believe that the work to be made in this area will provide material opportunities for our young artists and contribute to the development of the contemporary art in our country and will also strengthen the dialogue between the artists and art audiences. The Ministry has always adopted this approach when it supports the culture and art as a part of the understanding of the state.
